I have been invited to go see the new live action movie of "Beauty & the Beast" a couple of times already, and have promptly refused each time. I'd like to say why I am not going to see/support the movie. 

It came out a little while ago that the movie would feature Disney's first openly gay character. There was also a lot of talk about the first "exclusively gay scene" in the movie. Now this stuff is the main reason for my boycotting, but I'd also like to state that the movie didn't really interest me before I found this out anyway. I'm fine with having the original cartoon and nothing else. 

As a Christian, there are a lot of rules to follow that we don't really do a very good job of following. There is so much peer pressure in this world to just follow the flow, and accept what society accepts. But as a Christian, I am told to follow God's word. To obey His laws. That is why I am not going to see or support this movie in anyway. If you don't think it's really a big deal, that's fine, that's your opinion. My opinion is that everything that goes against God's word is a big deal. 

I'd also like to say that while I do not support this, I in no way hate LGBT community. As a follower of Christ I'm told to love everyone. I love you whether you are gay or not. Have a blessed day.
